clearly important..you decide.. we all decide daily how we can get involved or not involved..for us our vote is and has been daily with a hammer and volunteers and hope for a better tomorrow..no one worries about interestes changing with habitat, ARMS moving, banks fudging, we are consistent and our families know we give them every opportunity for sure..you decide.. a vote for Habitat is a vote for a better community, join us. Hi frmo all at habitat,

today we have IBM, Yonkers High School and many more coming out, all working with slight rain, they come with hope..we astart with our Saturday prayer, our workers and you we hope, a prayer for all of us. thank you God for each of you who reads this, for each of your families, for your roof, for your home, for your donations, for your work..for your caring..may you be blessed each minute today..and may our volunteers be blessed and safe today, may resources come abundantly.. may you help those in Haiti suffering, in the poorest country in the hemisphere, may you help Argentina Habitat who we help support, may youhelp the elderly whose brish with kindness project we work on, may you guide the building depts, the municipalities, wthe water depts. the inspectors, the comisioners the politicians, teh donors, allwho make our work go through to build a home..our fellow agencies..dear God in heaven, we take so m uch for granted, we are so grateful for our Jewish and Muslim brothers and sisters, our Christians brothers and sisters, our people who believe in humanity...Amen..from Habitat of Westchester to Hbitat of Tajikistan to Habitat of India to Habitat in Haiti and Georgia and Santa Cruz and all over...jjk

HI FROM HABITAT,

 

Today we do our pickups all over the county.. we need you keep your eyes open as we keep these green businesses going for sure..recycling, picking up, helping to generate sales tax..for the county and saving the environment..no question..we also have a warehouse as well.

 

the economy is tanking, that means people who have known me trying to help people for years, come by the door, Jim ihave no food, can i work.. Jim remember me three years ago, the call comes in...at Covenant House, i have a four month old baby now, can you help me..Jim i was laid off from the florist..can i work a f ew days..thank God for the Restores, we are growing, we need your help..they raise money, they give people supporrt, they hire some of htese people part time..

 

yesterday i had a great meeting..with Ed Brancati...supervisor of Lewisboro, what a great person..he and his team met over us doing affordable housing together..we believe we will be doing Brush with Kindness and

home building there in the future...thanks to Maryann and Connie who help us in that area. Ed had gone to Biloxi Mississippi as well as New Orleans to help build..what a great person he is..what a great mission he is doing..always exciting to see an elected official who understands what the important things are...more to follow..

 

so help us during this time..help us rebuild, and build.. help us recycle and hire, help us to build homes and brainstorm. during this crisis..the Crisis is an Opportunity..God bless you, make a donation today please no matter how small or large..jjk

VOLUNTEERS LIKE SCARSDALE HIGH WHO WENT OUT TO HELP PAINT THE FOOD PANTRY THEY FIRST HELPED CREATE AS PART OF OUR BRUSH WITH KINDNESS PROGRAM ON LAWRENCE STREET…A TOUGH AREA, THEY BRING HOPE …VILLANOVA ALUM, WITH MIKE AND HIS TEAM, CAME AGAIN..TO WORK WITH US IN YONKERS ..GRENWICH CAPITAL CAME BACK TO HELP FINISH A SENIORS HOME THAT SHE DIDN'T EVENHAVE A BATHROOM, WHAT A WORLD, BUT THE SAME WORLD..

 

SOME FEEL SORRY, AND MANY SUFFER…BUT CAN WE GET BACK TO BASICS,  CAN WE SURVIVE, CAN WE MAKE IT SO THAT PEOPLE CAN HAVE NON LOAN SHARKED HOMES..INTEREST FREE. REAL COMMUNITY, AND A REAL ECONOMY AGAIN…THE BIG GUYS GET TAX ABATEMENTS, GET BAIL OUTS, GET HUGE BONUSES..OUR BAILOUT AND BONUSES ARE ALL OF YOU, ALL OF YOU AND HOW WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO HELP, HOW WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO SURVIVE AGAIN, HOW PEOPLE LIKE BILL IN MR POINDS NEIGHBORHOOD IS NOW OUR NEIGBHBOR WITH JAY, AND WITH RISSA AND DOMINIC AND KATHY,..MORE FRIENDS, MORE REAL COMMUNITY, MORE REAL PEOPLE..

easy like Sunday morning. the song goes.. but not so easy when we have work to do..the founder of Habitat  Millard Fuller calls me on the way to Atlanta, Jim how are you doing..you are my best buddy can you spread the word...he is on the way to speak at a blitz buildin Shreveport La.  along with that, he prepares for El Salvador..

Jason my right hand, calls me, Jim the high schoolers will be there at the Legion the American Legion shortly, is the door open. Dawn from the Bronxville Reformed Church writes, Jim if you can be at the church by 1115am..you can address the group...the coffee hour...all great..so Great...easy to rest in, some day, but not now.. too much to do...like Millard on the way to the airport, Habitat of Westchester goes seven days a week, no question...we have people like the person with  kids who wrote a letter...Jim please help me have a home.. please...my kids and  I dream of it...or like Jared my high school New Rochelle leader who met me yesterday at 3pm..Jim, how  can we get the club more involved....or Tim from Lincoln High school, Jim can we get i a pick up of furntirue then delivererd..also I am getting my college essay together..what an essay it will be...then Tim Judge is on the way to the Bronx River as we speak to lead our Bike2Build...Tim thank you so much..his whole family..

 

So EASY LIKE SUNDAY MORNING... I wish...say a prayer for us on Sundays Mondays and all the week...what we do is multi layered all days all the time..but when i see Jose today one of the family members and realize it is about him and his family getting in a home...getting away from bad housing and into good..then its all easy..to be motivated to keep going.. I WAS FORTUNATE TO MEET A CEO DAVID WESTIN WHO GAVE A MINUTE OF MISSION..YES A CEO...HOW IMPORTANT DURING THE WEEK, THAT HE TALKED ABOUT DURING THE SERVICE THAT EVERYONE SHOULD THINK ABOUT AND ACT TO CANCEL OUT POVERTY...HE IS HEAD OF ABC, AND IF EVERY CEO THOUGHT LIKE HIM, GOLDED PARACHUTES WOULD BE REPLACED BY GOLDEN SOLUTIONS OF CEOS VOLUNTEERING, HELPING TO GIVE BACK LIKE HE, AND HELPING TO TAKE THE LEAD IN FACILITATING FORUMS FOR FUTURE SOLUTIONS....STAY TUNDED.. I COMMEND BOB WILLUMSTADT WHO GAVE BACK HIS PARACHUTE TO HIS COMPANY AND DID NOT TAKE HIS MONEY AS HE LEFT AIG.. I HAVE KNOWN BOB FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS...HAVING SEEN HIM BUILD ON OUR HABITAT SITES..AS WELL AS JOHN THAIN.

 

SO WHAT LESSONS CAN WE LEARN,. WHAT CAN WE COME AWAY WTIH AS OF THIS TIME...WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE...BACK TO BASICS..BACK TO REAL COMMUNITY, BACK TO SUCCESS OF WHAT WE NEED TO BE DOING, HELPING PEOPLE REALLY HAVE AMERICAN DREAMS IN HOME OWNERSHIP..NOT THRU FANCY FINACIAL PRODUCTS THAT REALLY LEAVE THE PERSON IN DEBT AND RISK OF FORECLOSURE, BUT LONGER TERMS SOLUTION, ..LIKE HABITAT..

we are going to have a great day today, for sure..because there is hope for youth, there is hope for the future, there is hope for retired youth too, those who have worked their whole life, who will work with us on our sites..like Rich Rodrigue, Mary, Tom Ron walker and more..
