Last nite visiting my homeless friend, on Main St in NewRochelle, it was cold…hot beef stew, I brought and his kindness to me, of thanks made me selfishly feel great. Homeless in Westchester come on, they are only down in the Bronx in potts, or in nyc right? When coming to NY and moving here, everyone says, we go help NYC, we go here there, we also go to Tennessee and Nicacaragua..but they wont come to Main st, they wont come to Mt Vernon, they wont reachout locally.. Part of it is our religious institutions often just leading people to write a check for an agency that says they help, but don’t reach out directly, Leadership of our faith community needs to know what the needs are on their street, in their community, within two miles and more…many don’t, many drive in and out, and we have many silos, political silos, faith silos, govt silos, not for profit silos, its time to make it real..
Lets go…the ultimate manger story in Westchester is that many don’t have homes and many do. Its time to help right here..
Its time to change this. Bendiciones
