Fifty years ago, three people had been killed, during the Freedom Summer, when they were shot and beaten to death..one person Michael from Pelham had gone to fight for justice…to missisippi..some times, I feel the fight for justice from Pelham to M Vernon is the mason Dixon line of today..sophisticated prejudice is evil..zoning laws that exclude evil…kids who die and get shot next door in a city while others fly to the atlantis..well you know.
Fifty yeasrs after the #WARONPOVERTY we have just perpetuated poverty..programs and rentals are bandaids versus empowerment..political diatribes, with guaranteed lifetime pensions and no new ideas..perpetuate systems of archaic prejudice.
Faith communities sing and separate on fridasys sat and Sundays while kids get shot outside the door, and nice cars whiz away to dinner…
What have we really accomplished….stay tuned..this is the #FREEDOMSUMMER….
