+No More Shacks one of Millard Fullers early books..

Talks about the early beginnings..from speaking at at Metro Baptist church in NYC and St Barts to helping to build home on E 6th st.

I was on the board building on E 6th street, and honored to know a number of the families there. I had worked on the lower E Side with the homeless and mental health club model and

Was honored to get on the board of NYC.

I remember blocking off a block and having a big celebration of homes being built, a block party.

What a day.

We did that in Yonkers too, its time for us to be able to see us build homes again in New York and in ths country..

God wants no more shacks. God wants no more kids sleeping in basements.

We are excitingly moving a family into a home in August, moving them from a basement apartment into home ownership..

Amazing!

With that in mind, we continue…we move ahead our 3rd Fuller Cetner home, closed on in six months, interest free no down payment!

Stay tuned!

God has only just begun a great work in us for homes..and for you joining us.

Please donate to us..or contact me jim@fullercetnerny.org

The days are longer, the Spring is here, and we are back helping Sandy families as well as beyond.

Three more families are  hoping they will move into their homes as they do sweat equity and we are putting final touches on two of them and more work on another.

Remembering Sandy is an emotional thing for me..and for my team who are Fuller Disaster Responders/  Sesh, Tom, Norma, all helped, and talking to Sesh the amazing person who helps lead on the other side of the bridge, like Steve B is here, we can only look at the way in which we kept people going in the dead of winter, bringing hope as we had our disaster center at Christ Church.

We are making another video as we go back to Sandy areas in the Rockaways to help again..and to gather our families..who once you cry, suffer, work together, you realize you are one famiiy, in and after a disaster..

Congregations are signing up, Scarsdale Baptist Holy Family Church, Westchester Reformed.Boston College Alumni..

Companies are signing up..Goldman Sachs. IBM, Institutional investors, Curto Schwartz Veneruso and Curto, Home Depot…to build with us.

High schools, including one coming in this weekend, all the way from Ohio..Fisher Catholic High School!

This amazing high school part of the rotary club in Lancaster Ohio comes for their year.. Amazing!

With that in mind we continue!  We move ahead, to help build this spring..

And our golf tournament is September 24th…are you coming..we are excited about this at Wykagyl.

With all we do and say we give Thanks for you this Lenten, Holy Season and pray for you and yours In all you do! The excitement  is building!

And happy birthday to President Carter who 8 weeks ago when I was with he and Roslyn he stated, Millard was the inspiration for so much of his faith in action after the presidency.  Well Jimmy Happy Birthday here, and to Roslyn bless you and to the Fuller centers and homeowners all over the world and here, we say #fullercenters Oyeeee!

Staritng to share and write again! The machinations of our working to make it all come together, has happened and we are building away with your help!

Its how we roll….Today is warmer weather and February is Founders month and framing away! Yes we are framing in #Chappaqua on King Street.

We also are building away at our #Reuse store, and our DIY classes are ready to start..are you in?

Building is holy in my opinion, touching wood (in our tradition the cross)., making tables, helping to sand, nail, etc, just something amazing about it.

I used to make tables when younger and give them to my inlaws as gifts..

Our #BUILDERSCAMP and Mastercarpentry program is coming into fruition, so that we can help to make more carpenters for the future.

Sign up now as the numbers of people that want to participate this summer are many!

This week we had our first February builders camp…so join us touch the wood, not the  wordperfect,,

Sand away, not script, and help us #rebuildNewYork together!

Its time to take it back! God bless you jjk

The last five years of my life have been a challenge, personally…and today is my two year anniversary of losing my life..

Diana Torres Killoran.what a saint and witness of love…she had to support me, who gave my life to helping build homes and neighborhoods..

Including the sacrifice of my sons..giving up what other kids had, including their dad sat and Sundays for volunteers who build all the time..

Thank you Sons I love you.

This is a ministry of love..it affects you to help build homes, it affects you to get habititis! It helps you to change neighborhoods and other families lives..

It also helps you to build Veterans homes!  in that area, this Memorial Day weekend, we remember every soldier, every veteran who gave their life in service, to that end we build and we rebuild communities together..

May Godbless you today…thank you Diana and sons for allowing me to do what I do..and for being with me, to help others live in simple decent homes!

This Hanukkah Christmas New Year has been an interesting one to say the least..

We have been helping no stop including today helping a seniors family get heat, their home rehabbed for a disabled daughter, and bringing hope everyday

Another volunteer comes by..in Ossining in the town on Chappaqua.

We moved Alvin and his wife into a condo, what a joy, a former crack house now a beautiful home for a family..amazing!

We also helped 30 plus fire victims with new coats gloves, hats and socks, given  out to them by myself after I was contacted to respond…

In Mamoroneck..

We get ready for another ribbon cutting of a home to start at historic #Moquette Row, this great project will move quickly and help a family live with the American dream of home ownership!

With that in mind, we need your continued support..Chappaqua King street will have great momentum and two more homes in Millwood.

We will start a shipping container home in Millwood too…amazing..

We also gave out 500 gifts in the rockaways to our friends there….

With all of that we say thank you!   we are blessed by you, and ask for your prayers, and for your donation..

It is all a  true blessing to our vital work! God bless

We were honored to speak at the Westfair Millieniels nite, for awards..

The challenges to milleniels are many, college debt, no ability to own, but great hearts..

We hope to change this with our milleniel advisory committee. We will have a milleniel build meeting…

And milleniel build week.

As we speak people in Puerto Rico are still suffering, no electricity many without water and food, we will be going

There within two weeks…my wifes family is from there, and in their honor we created the Diana build.

Thanks to Mamoroneck Diner and Gjokos and the many who have helped us over the years.. to assist us make it..

We continue.. in our vital work, to make things happen..we save lives, we change communities and we bring hope and love..

With that in mind we are excited this week we start another project on Moquette Row…a home and helping to rehab the neighborhood

We have estimates of more than 2 million dollrs of volunteer labor, brush with kindness, and rehabs of former crack houses in this neighborhood.

The week that is..

It has been a long time since I have written…Hurricane Sandy, our relief efforts of 9000 plus volunteers, then my wife passed away, after two years of home hospice, and just back into feeling like I can share again.

Certainly this week with the anniversary of Hurricane Sandy being five years is one good reason.

Also our journey to our 30th anniversary celebration is another…and last our work to help

Be part of relief efforts in Puerto Rico (my wifes family from there) personally moved me to write some thoughts.

Our efforts are blessed, yes BLESSED by God with our volunteers…..our ministry of love has been a long journey in action and love…from helping to rehab a rundown three unit condo in yonkers, to helping to start a new neighborhood in white plains, of 6 new homes, to moving a family out of harms way whose 3 year old was shot and killed and we moved them into a new home.and to relief from Mamoroneck to sandy has been unbelievable.  From deep sadness to great joy, from distressed homes to energy efficient….from substandard hoods, to NMU and hoods for good…

I will be sharing 30th anniversary stories to help hilite this journey and ask for your prayers and support as we move ahead to build and rebuild…

With that in mind in all we say and do we say thanks to God for you..
