God is so good..no question! I write this on Shabat…as I said God bless and Salaam to my friends on the street..one God, one faith in action..from Abraham on..we work to help eliminate poverty…in the world..in a county that has such contradictions.

Tonite the anniversary on the March on Washington is upon us….a time for healing a time for hope…our March on Washington is throughout the neighborhoods..daily..a march with a hammer, a planter, a broom, a paint brush…the American Dream Lives in interest free homeownership with Habitat of Westchester..here and across the country and world..no question..just back from the early morning..

In Mt Vernon..watering our planters at 5am..speaking with police engaging the neighborhood and small stores open…

we have begun the transformation..our March on Mt Vernon Avenue on First and inbetween continues…in our Gateways initiative….so many people are excited to help us, so many residents…our Made in America shop is there….where we hired someone from the neighborhood yesterday….the Dream continues in home ownership.in our March in the neighborhoods from Larchmont and Somers to Mt Vernon and Yonkers..we are blessed to help with the American Dream continuing….so when people come back from Washington honoring the anniversary..march with us with a hammer…with a planter, with a tape measure..let us rebuild together…God bless you!

As we come together for our anniversary, so many great things are happening..

Our work in Mt Vernon, increases..we hope to buy a foreclosure in our targeted neighborhood of our Gateways initiative….our Greening of the neighborhoods bar none, surpasses many greenwashing efforts going on…stay tuned…where our Made in America shop is, we are glad to see Solar belly trash receptacles..

We hope to be putting solar on our made in America shop..and showing about sustainability materials in our Made in America Shop and our Mt Vernon Restore…right near by…we just got tile there, that Home Depot would have thrown away and they donated to us..amazing.

Our 25th anniversary event coincides with our Hurricane Sandy anniversary to help so many families..we move ahead..

With that In mind, God has blessed us so much…to help others…we continue  for the next 25 years stronger than ever..

How Green is your home!

A million dollar question in many ways, a life changing question, a life saving question..all of this is something that we start with a premise of how do we save energy, make our Habitat homes green..and help to save money and energy for the future……more and more people are looking with a Green Eye if you will….what type of paints..how about carpet….do I get the LED’s…is solar an option….what about rain barrels…

Utilities have always skyrocketed..combined with tax bills…its amazing to see how high utilities can go..

For us..saving energy and utilities always became the mantra..how do we save for the future..how do we save money..our homes, our healthy our communities…

This no longer seems to far fetched, or that we are greenies…if you would..

This becomes not a pipe dream, as the next storm Hurricane is out in the Pacific and homes burn from forest fires..and floods and weather advisories come out more and more…

All of this is vital to our existence…as I get older, I am proud I was in the right direction..hoping to put Solar on buildings, where ever we could..proud to have brought a wind company…to look at introducing wind on our homes, and neighborhoods..proud to have introduced SIPS into the county in a big way..reengineered wood, our recycling Restores…honored to hope we have shed light..that saving money is a good thing..with going green, saving lives, greening homes and our neighborhoods…

To that end we now hope to be OTG…Off the Grid! That hurts! Ouch..hurts who…those who make tons of money off of average consumers…or does it help us all for the environment…

On my desk is a Green Bible…The Psalmist wrote…in Psalm 50 The Mighty One, the God the Lord, speaks and summons the earth, fromt eh rising of the sun to its setting,

Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God shines forth!

Lets us continue to add a green goal a day..in our lives..turning the tipping point back, saving money, saving resources, and living a life full of healthy food, homes and communities once again! God bless you!

Ps our Green Seminar is on for the Fall….stay tuned!

Thanks to Christ Church Cathedral for volunteering with us….the Earth is the Lords and all that is within ..bless the Lord oh my soul with that in mind we pray…we sing we are grateful..we claim God s presence in our life and our Habitat world and personal lives and families lives.

So many have challenges, but the strength of our habitat families is unbelievable…single moms with kids..veterans who fought overseas and now fight to make ends meet, seniors in our brush with kindness work who need to be able to make it..who cant afford the highest taxes in the country..

Volunteers such as Christ Church, the A Team, our Veterans..fluent who is helping with our golf tournament next week, all help us to make it in ways that never before has people seen volunteers help us..companies come and build like fluent did..and decided to help pick us for their annual golf tournament…

With that in mind, we say thank you to all of our volunteers..all the angels protect you..help us make real estate a right not a burden..so people can have a simple decent home  to live in.

God bless
