With that in mind, we need you to help us with our Building Campaign..our Campaign to raise 1.2 million over the next six months..thats right, to build, to commit, to lead.. to help..

God is blessing us, He gave it all for us to help use for positive resources…now its your turn to help….God bless..

A great morning..each day we wake up blessed. Grateful..helping the world to be able to move ahead in a better way…withyour help we can do it..we Just got our beautiful Wall of Hope and Homes…    a deacon of the church calls..Jim we have a semior who needs help…can youhelp us build a ramp in white plains….amaazing…pray for her, Gracie and Dannie and her home.

They had no heat this winter..she lost her legs to diabetes..and God needs to take over this situation…another kid comes in….and says…can I do my bar mitzhvah project to help the family in White Plains…so many needour help….another person comes to me, can you help us buld…the word s of Isaiah and Nehemiah, being Repairers of the Breach are coming true, rebuilding, helpoing sharing and loving…with your help….someone wrote in 1993 ..Once I became part of Habitat my life has never been the same….what are you waiting for….God bless you!

Eastchester Tuckahoe..when are we going to build there..our volunteers come last nite to our vol. orientation asking..when do you come..

When can you be with us…when can we start an lpc there…we have one in chapaqua, in Larchmont, in Yonkers, in Somers…we help others have homes there, why not in your town…..lets hope…

 

Today we welcome more than 30 volunteers from the different sties…helping to build homes, helping to work on our sites…helping us to finish Mamoroneck..going great…

A large project of fifty homes was brought to me…what can we do, can we build it, of course we can..

Our Golf Committee meets last nite..moving ahead…time to get busy, help us build in your town today..

Habitat is prayer in action..yesterday stait Gate Church came out and worked for two hours….all congregations be they Christian Jewish or Muslim, should work once a month on a habitat site…no question!!!!!

 

With that in mind, how about your church or synagogue, we go and invte, speak, and ask congregations to act..invite me to spaak at your congregation, any denomination…IMAGINE IF EACH CONGREGATION DID IN WESTCHESTER, AND IN THE WORLD BUILT WITH US…HOW E WOULD END POVERTY TOGETHER!!!!!!

If only to get inspired again, this Thursday evening, after praying and thinking about what we need to do to accomplish the goal of a home for all…I read one of the original copies of NO MORE SHACKS…(WE HAVE THEM FOR A DONATION AT OUR HEADQUARTERS) ..by Millard Fuller..

 

Ch. 9 leads off…There is no doubt about it…The resources both material and human, sufficient to house everybody already exist. Building materials in an abundant variety are scattered over the earth. It is true that in some places the necessary supplies are not immediately adjacent to a particular construction site. It is also true that extra creativity may be required in order to build in some areas. But adequate materials of one kind or another are available.”  Furthermore there is enough money in the world to house everybody, not in mansions, not in opulent villas with saunas, swimming pools, and tennis courts. But simple decent houses can be built for every family. There is enough money for that….

 

To that end we recommit ourselves to help with that mission..to Caifu, to Port au Prince, to Sonsonate El Salvador to southwest Yonkers and northern Chapaqua, to Somers to South Central to Tecate to Tuckahoe, to your town and city…….

What have you given away lately, what have you done to help others…much I am sure….we cant give more than God asks…God outgives back to us all the time..our very breathe, our safety our waking up..our food, legs, minds..etc…God is so good, we are called to help one another…no question.

 

Everyday we are great to be part of Habitat. This Friday we have Barclays, Starwood Hotels, volunteers from high school, as well as Citibank..

Yesterday we had a great LPC meeting in Chapaqua..Our Horace Greeley leaders, along with Leslie Fitts,Walter,Clark from the lpc, and others, find us rehabbing a seniors home who has needs..then the Carriage house, then our first affordable homes….it is an exciting to see this lpc move ahead

 

We are going to be having a series of LPC meetings that will meet regularly to help us with a Leadership conference call…what a great group who have helped us build in Chapaqua. Somers, Yonkers, New Rochelle, Mt Vernon, Portchester Greenburgh, Armonk, Croton, Bedford, and many many more towns…what a great team…with so many leading, like Ossining and White plains leaders too….our first LPCs ….

Stay tuned for Amazing things.. in all we do…

A great meeting with Mercury Solar, very exciting…never a dull moment..for sure..  today our Thursdays are always filled with pickups for the Restores…building in yonkers mamoroneck and somers, as well as helping out in our work in our Restores…last nite I was blessed to pray again with my Haitian friends, at Leglise de Baptiste, we pray over the schools and leladers and the government..for guidance and movement..

We also prayed for those in need…

We take so much for granted every day….help us in this vital mission to build homes all over the county the country, the world…know you are in our prayers today…everyone who reads this for sure…

Daily I pray with our bus riders in front of our Restore..hi jim, have a blessed day..remember Julie in prayer will you Jim..

Last nite Pastor Pierre invites me, Jim..come to Brooklyn to a large thank you for all those who help Haiti….

A call, pray for Jane to get her position…without prayer we are nothing in our lives at habitat or anywhere…whether an earthquake shakes in Washington DC…or Haiti, or an earthquake inyour own personal life..know that with prayer, the tremors go away and we will recover, and God is with us…here on our sites in our families and in your heart…or perhaps it is someone asking to pray for Shannon for a right bone marrow match….

It can happen…

 

For us we have so many of all faiths helping us..Jewish Christian Muslim…Jimimy..Raheem calls me…thank you ..you blessed us with helping another family with six chairs from your Restore…

 

The Restores in themselves are opportunities for people of all backgrounds to come in shop share and shave off prices that save income and help build communities together..

So in all we do and say let us give Thanks to God..for each second, each minute in life…then get involved and HELP….THE TIME IS NOW…

Walking in the morning..i say Hola..then Cag di la..to my Czech friend..and then Sac Passe to our Haitian Friend and Bon Giorno to my Italian friend..

The diversity of our communities is the makeup of beauty for the face of New Rochelle…with that in mind realize that we have such a great place to live…Last nite I prayed with two congregations..many go together during the summer and have missions…in French and English and Creole…

Praying for Haiti, praying for here…

 

Today Thursday, we build away on our sites, the heat has slowed slightly in a heat wave and our stalworth volunteers stay with us..

Helping..moving ahead..building with us…

 

Our warehouse in Mt Vernon, our Restore is doing great..visit there today..

New communities are being formed, neighbohoods are being strengthened and our world is moving ahead healthier with Habitat, stay tuned….

Born on the 4thfo July …the song goes..are you a Yankee Doodle Dandy…we are at habitat, and dandys for everyone to have a home from here to Haiti and back…

 

Daily we work hard, celebrate and volunteer on sites, meeting with families…in community meetings like last nites in Yonkers…the hollows..over a block party to be held..as welll as helping to celebrate homes being made and completed…

 

With that in mind..we move ahead.. we help we celebrate our Headquarters being purchased..one milestone for HFH of Westchester…

This building..historic, on Main street in New Rochelle has naming opportunities…rooms that can be named…placques to be put up and more opportunities for sponsorship….we celebrated the kickoff of our contract with a historic trolley ride, for the downtown, our neighbors and fun for us all…

Why a trolley, historic public transportation, affordable downtowns, and walkable cities, sounds like a Green plan of Community development in habitats eyes,…and with our headquarters here..we cant do any worse for sure, but only better in being a great blessing for the downtown as we have.

 

So make a Yankee Doodle Dandy pledge to us ..and sponsor a room, a wall..our Green resource center..and help us continue to make dreams come true..! God bless you!

The Knicks, Lebron, Stoudemire…what about the gulf, the economy, the need for jobs..what a world we live in..

Where are our priorities…for 7 people who came to our fourth of July orientation last nite, it was interesting to say the least.

They took the time out to listen to me asking them to build homes in purchase, Eastchester, Wacabuc…why, because every town and city needs affordable homes..no exclusivity..everyone to play their part..can it happen….of course it can..and in your town too…..we need to have it happen.

After the orientation, I went to my good friends at 7pm the Haitian leglise de baptiste church…where..we prayed for Haiti, for each other, in French..

Un nouveau couer de charitie..un noveau couer de justice..the chanson, song, goes

 

We are in interesting times…

Our communities become over stuffed,with density that people have asthma..that little security at times..and kids go to school at times in substandard homes..what happens..where do we go, do we keep building upon each other, or can we spread out across the county…

 

The flourishing of Justice, wholeness and health…is vital..to a community, Mark Gornick writes…vital for the success of places like Sandtown Baltimore, like Yonkers NY, like every inner city…

 

Join us in this vital mission, join us in building just communities together..like the words of Isaiah and Nehemiah challenge us

Isaiah in Ch 65 stresses the need for us to have whole cities..that we be repairers of the breach..and Nehemiah asks families in ch 11 to have a chance to have a simple decent home…to live in community, to help us rebuild..

 

Yesterday I was on a conference call with people from Lousiana, El Salvador, Texas, Georgia, the PHillipines and more..another group I help with create homes..does a worldwide call every month…helping to build homes in honor of our founder Millard Fuller..who inspired us all to think that everyone should get a simple decent home to live in..

 

I will give you a new heart and a new Spirit..in Ch 36 of Ezekial..help us create new hearts new spirits, new Green Communities.. May you help create a new community with us, help create a new spirit in yourself today, and may everyone go to bed at nite in a simple decent home.. God bless you..

Melissa comes in…did you hear about the shootings…I asked my son…did you hear that…Mary asked me..did you read about the shooting on Walnut Street…up the hill..Melissa says..

The summer is heating up…police are being cut…guns are being shot…what is going on…

We have angels watching over..and now our neighborhood watch…

Kids go home..they get into trouble, rich kids..pay for fancy lawyers to get off of community service..expecting the world owes them, then back to 1/2acre homes….nine homes..five homes away shots ring out in the hood..this is Westchester folks..habitat of Westchester style..wont you pray with us…

Wont you help us…the TIME IS NOW! WE ARE STARTING A NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH PROGRAM..WE WILL CHANGE THIS SITUATION..WATCH…
