With our new solar panels, we have generated 40 Kilowats in the first week..in the winter..what are you waiting for.

We have saved green saved money, saved energy..saved the carbon footprint…

Saving homes..by our Brush with Kindness and Neighborhood Revitalization program..we are saving whole neighborhoods..stay tuned..

Early morning ride to the airport…with Emporia of Kansas habitat, …we are grateful for all we have been blessed with, with Lainie and Blythe and the many volunteers…also a shout out to all the UMW volunteers who worked so hard to help us this week as well, in White Plains, in Yonkers, in Elmsford..what a great week..and then the Webb school comes in….Our final four, is made up of college students and high schoolers from around the country and from here…in Westchester, changing the world, changing the county one day at a time, one two by four at a time.

 

What a blessing to see Friday March 26, 2011 a day that a home was dropped unfinished.. a modular for the Brown family..when we look at all we are doing, we see that

Many are helping the Browns have a home.  We utilize an unfinished modular like Baltimore Maryland habitat did, not long ago, to be able to utilize, so we can finish the homes quicker…..what a blessing. I also spoke the our new neighbors Maria. She owns the house next to the Brown family…we will help them with Brush with Kindness.

 

One of the greatest things to realize for our development and Community development of any neighborhood, is that  a habitat home is not in a vacuum, nor is any neighbor…..a nice home, can be substandard if one doesn’t know their neighbors… a park can be run down, garbage can be thrown around, and blight can happen….we look to change blight, we look to change our whole neighborhoods…like we have on Willow, or on Fairview, or on Lafayette street, or more…

As move ahead in this vital exciting mission..we say habitat Oye…an African term for praise, for our neighbors, for the Browns and Maria, and for you…who we need you to help with your sweat equity, your love and your donation…what are you waiting for…VOLUNTEER OYE…God bless you!

What a past couple of days…our unfinished modular gets dropped today on site..

Volunteers help come in from Kansas and Minnesota this weekend from colleges,

Our solar panels are now generating energy…saving us big dollars.

Our life is good..we are so blessed..

Genette says hi to me on the bus this morning at the stop below..we helped her and her son, from getting evicted…from getting foreclosed..thru the maize of bank calls, of knowing whether the bank would give her a modification or not, whether they knew if they owned the paper or not..what a world..however it is a victory as I give her a tea this morning..

Things are good she says..

Genette gave up her car payment, gave up her extra things so she could save her home..and pay all the needs she needed, not what she wanted..her maintainance on her coop jumped immensely which caused her to have go to these changes…but the remorse and fear one could see in her heart was replaced by the joy of knowing she was safe in her home..

 

Along with that joy this morning I have the joy of seeing the youth from across the world..joining us..in building a life, that helps us change the world for the better..we welcomed

The youth from Emporia State U. and also the youth from U. of Milwaukee Wisconsin.. a force to be reckoned with..

Our March Madness, our Sweet Sixteen, our final four is not a final four, but a great joy and recommendation for love and hope to change the world for the better..

I just toured the Elmsford flood area…I was honored to meet Fran Cerrone and her kids..

As well as many of the families on Babbitt court.

This was an amazing effort by all of us, to see that many families could be losing their homes..we have not taken care of our rivers…overflooding often abounds, and we suffer..families suffer..and we look foolish as a society…we have to take care of our communities, and our families…with sweat equity and love and helping…

 

Utilizing volunteers to take care of community enhances love, enhances spirit de corp, saves taxpayers dollars, helps to bring people together of all walks of life…amazing..i have been fortunate to see this most of my life…that is why I love what we do…its time to take back our communities folks, a peoples movement of love, of sweat equity of building homes, and gardens and rooftops and riverbeds..join us!

We are excited about the college students coming from all over the country here..this week they will help the flood areas, and flood homes…they will help build zero energy homes, and rehab..

Grateful for the group from St. Josephs college of Maine, who started on Sunday helping..in White Plains and in Greenburgh…

Today we welcome U. of Minnesota, St. Josephs ct to our sites, and Providence college, what a great blessing!  With that in mind we are so grateful!!!!!

Lets remember Japan in our prayers today…I am sure Habitat international is planning rebuilding there, as well as other great organizatons..stay tuned..

People are suppressing their hungry, ten thousand seen to be dead in one province alone, we need to really pray for these people..and help…

We take so much for granted..take every second with joy, gratitude, and blessings to God, no matter what faith, you believe in…yesterday we were blessed to have the

Mitzvah group of Scarsdale Synagogue, help..what a great thing it was…to have this happen…churches synagogues, temples..all come to help us..join in Faith and Action!

Mercury Solar, has helped us to put solar on our building,…we will save at least 20 percent. We are going to have our 4^th Annual Green Conference, at Iona in May this year..

Go Green, save Green..Last nite with Miami of Ohio, we had students from all over the country join us for a talk after they worked on ..Eco systems, by the Cary Institute..

Every urban area is an ecosystem, one which needs help and our support and prayers, and greening…our Greening efforts are bar none these days..

Also take a look at Bedford 20/20 what they are doing..amazing…time to Green Westchester everywhere..we can do this, even with tough development projects..one that needs to preserve green but move ahead..we will work together to green neighborhoods together..join us..

We celebrate working on our homes..helping people to save energy..today we put Solar on our roof, this historic day..and then leave to pour walls on our Near Zero Energy home in Yonkers…amazing..

The government talks about possible shut down..in US

..here in Haiti, it has in anumber of ways..a

new election brings hope..i meet election monitors, from all over the world, where we stay, and also meet President Clinton..I had to comet o Haiti to meet my president who lives in Westchester..

Yesterday we saw the great work we have been suppporting here, we have beenhepling with here.

'and today by cite du Soleil, nearby, we go to see a repair ministry..
