A world to change…the message from the Pope..the message from you and I , the message in NY, the message of Habitat since its beginning.

Many need homes, many need to have a place to live, they have no place to go, no place to have a roof, cant afford it here in NY and across the world.

The Pope prays, we pray, the beauty of a prayer service of 911 of all faiths today, exemplifies what the true love of God is.

We continue we work in the theology of the hammer.  A world to change….

FW: blog

Walking in NYC before the throngs come, I pray, I wrestle with a life good bad and ugly, asking God to guide our every step, my every step..and remember how good God has given me a life.  Like Gods tumbleweed I am blown one way and the other, stopping in places I can do good, with Gods guidance….the blessings of the Pope Francis house @pontifex house, has been an amazing Gods incidence instead of coincidence…where an anonymous donor called months ago, can you build a house, and we will help give a lead gift 60,000 to help build it, so you can challenge others for building and support?  Of course! I say, what an honor what a life, what a gift, what a way to remember a man who is cool..yup a cool cat, he rides a bike, he loves the poor, he walks the walk he loves Jesus, he believes..then out of the blue two months later we hear the Pope is coming to NewYork…amazing…

Often in the morning I call for all the saints to come in for coffee, and people like St Francis, Rabbi Heschel, Martin Luther King, Mother Teresa..Millard Fuller…join me, pray for me, guide me, my steps, this Gods tumbleweed.

As I prayed and took photos on Instagram..(habitatwc) and tweeted..habitatwc…out..i remembered Habitat had roots in the steps of st Patricks..where Millard and Linda prayed after they were almost getting divorced,..for Gods guidance…they gave up their wealth, moved to Koinonia Farms then to begin Habitat for Humanity….Godincidence?

As I continued to walk, I dreamed the Pope might read this this morning, my simple blog..Hola hermano en Cristo..gracias a ti para ayudar los povres..

I felt sad because I thought he could not walk and see what I see often in NY, he could not ride the bike with me like I do often from Harlem to the statue of liberty and back up to metro north, seeing the waterways, the Empire State, the World Trade Center, the people on the streets, of all walks of the life, the lights at Bloomingdales, Rock Center, the locations I know where the homeless are, where I visit and help for more than 30 years now….

From Tomkins sq to Union Square to Park Avenue on steps of churches…

What a world..call me Papa  914 403 4821…if you need to sneak out for a walk to see the real NY as you are protected more than anyone… come visit the foreclosed home we will rehab anew like the rebuilding of the church you are doing from the inside out….well the Tumbleweed dreams. ……..a call….the phone rings……who knows.. God bless you Pope Francis, God bless anyone who speaks out for the poor no matter what faith or no faith…the Tumbleweeds journey continues..thank you Lord, for being able to walk, to feel for Syrians, to know the poor to be in the hood..and to rebuild a home in Honor of Pope Francis and the Lord, for and with the Valesquez family in Yonkers.

FW: blog

The theology of the Hammer….Every Catholic, Every Jew, Every Muslim, every Protestant, people with no faith and faith,

All pick up in the love of life and simpe decent homes for all. That is the solution. After we leave our 911 buildathon, we move to our PopeFRancis house building, as well as our search for land in our Mitzvah House in White Plains, and then our Armed forces bulidathon. All of this means, we continue strong, we work strong, we build strong, in love of humanity,…habitat for humanity.

Everyone needs to pick up a hammer, make a donation, pray for our vital work and help us in getting habititis spread..an infectious disease of love that cant  stand kids in substandard housing, that cant stand kids to get shot, cant stand, people to suffer, cant stand roofs to leak and taxes to be obscene burdening homeowners…these are holy hands, holy hammers…we have only just begun in Westchester county, our ground troops are there from Bedford to Bronxville, from Somers to Swest Yonkers, from Peekskill to Portchester, and Chappaqua to Channel drive in Sandy relief, where we still build and rebuild.

Please make  a donation today,…lives depend upon it, peace depends upon it…God bless you all.

#NOLA, New Orleans, ten years ago, I remember watching the weather channels…and then it hit..unbelievable…within a short period of time, we were on a plane, the Habitat of Westchester SWAT team..the team that helps me get disasters recovered, makes #FEMAs job lighter..makes our #Sandy relief worth millions..and Mamoroneck flood homes rebuilt..

Yes our team is strong with volunteers and love and support from you.

I remember going there with a family who lost their home…couldn’t believe it..they never returned and now live in a Habitat home in Yonkers..the Riveras…we still need to help finish a home there, after we helped ten families there…

The smell of New Orleans was horrendous..the sewer, the stink, the heat, the unbelievable smell.we couldn’t find any place that was open to eat……downtown was a ghost town…windows blownout and boarded in high rises,  I remember seeing the @ConEd truck on the corner ….made me feel good about the volunteers who help us like they do every month now..thank you Con Ed.  I remember Tracy Addison whose home we helped rehab there now, I remember Flo Snow…and

A mom  with her Katrina baby, we helped..we take it all for granted… What a city, a culture a life,….many still not there, many still hurtin..we are recommitted not to forget or not to stop helping…Jim Pate and his team at Habitat NOLA, a great leader..

We went a second time with Chris Brown and Weidenbach and Brown and his employees, we built a home…we worked together, we made it happen. Off of Carrolton… we saw sharons home in Gentile..

Also Horace Mann builders continued to help us, continued to go with us..thank you !

Our work is not complete, there nor here, with NOLA, nor in Sandy…nor in Mamoroneck..nor in service in 911 or to Vets..

Remembering brings us to prayer, to faith in action, to SWAT teams  of Love and homes rebuilt stronger… we continue..

The song goes “have you ever been to New Orleans….” Its amazing…and when I go may there be a third line..

And may there be NOrelans jazz in heaven. God bless our friends in the Big Easy…Laissez bon temps roulez…with God in hearts and a song too, and a hammer in hand!
