What an honor it was for me to be able to speak to the Brothers with Class and ladies of dignity at Mt Vernon High school today..

No question…they brought me class …Respect Service Dignity, it states..they want to build…talking about homes, respect, looks, success and more..they vow to help us…we need you MV you are the best.. I am most honored to speak to all of you today!

 

Then we had the legal team of IBM out on our site, what a treat it was..helping to see the lawyers…buiding happily, transforming the neighborhood..we need team captains now..just you wait Big Blue, you will step up the plate, thanks to Jessica Lorden for doing it again and again…and to Courage and to Tom and all the gang..next week I speak to thte Executive team at IBM, what an honor, an honor if they step up…we need YOU BIG BLUE..ADOPT THE ORCHARD STREET NOW…

 

Last, in all I say and do, I give THANKS TO OUR LORD, TO GOD IN HEAVEN, FIRST… reading Crains today about the mortgage ctrisis, the Investment Banks dripping with money who helped undermine the very foundation of our society, the American Dream and home, it is time for ME TO STEP UP, WITH A VOICE, TO CHALLENGE WHAT HAS HAPPENED..and to change the obscene situation with Habitat..just wait and see.

Here I am Lord, Send me, it says in the book  of Isaiah…6:8 ..where are you being sent today…what are you called to do, how are you going to help others in life today..what a blessing to know there is a God, and   each day a gift to help one another..the world is smaller ..and we have a couple of choices..do we believe God sends us..to help do His will, or do we  believe we send ourselves, for what ever self goals there are.

They need not be mutually exclusive, but we can exist without focusing on the sending of ourselves by God, like Isaish..

We in Habitat believe we are all sent to help end poverty in our lifetime, no question..the HOUSING IMPERATIVE BY ISAIAH, BY NEHEMIAH, BY JESUS, BY MOSES AND MUHAMMED…and by the love of our human life…so Join us no matter what faith or no faith..We come to do your will today Lord…send us…Isaiah just walked in…..will you respond to the same call God gave him..God bless

Another blessed Saturday and weekend…we hve so many helping…Ardsley High school, New Rochelle High school at our headquarters…

Riverside High school, Bronxville High school and many many more.. no question..with that in mind, we work so hard, we do so much, we have so many great volunteers..THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!  This fall chillymorning Sat..sees another article on foreclosures..the race in Massachusetts for elections argues, who caused the housing crisis…you know what, this is OUR TIME! Community development..what does it mean to us..working with schools like Edison School, who raise support for us at the grammar school..for a home and helped us build a home in Portchester…for others it means helping to transform Orchard Street. Or S. Sunday morning, speaking at a church…they make a donation from their youth group..then off to Leglise De Baptiste in White Plains on Ferris Avenue…

To talk about our work in Haiti and here.. we started at First Baptist church in white plains in many ways, getting denominations involved, their congregants..now we have two homes to build in White Plains, what an amazing thing..we are so blessed to do this!  With your help we will move quickly and go onto the Mt Vernon seniors who need help on their home on 2^nd Avneue…and to the empty homes that need rehabbing..!!!

Heat or Eat..we have may who go over having challenges whether they have heat or eat..whether they are involved with food or oil, whether they can survive, or not.

Many people when it gets colder, don’t know if they will be able to survive, to make it, to have it so they have food or a warm house…what a challenge..our Brush with Kindness program addresses this in a big way…we help so many seniors and veterans now in our Brush with Kindness program…God bless all of our seniors who need their home rehabbed, or helped with.

 

In that vain we also have many who are on the verge of foreclosure, we are also addressing helping two homes that are foreclosed get back up and running with families living there..getting families a chance to live again with dignitiy….we are transforming communities ..Join us!

Early morning, Oct 5^th….chairs just donated…come in..never a dull moment.

  Donated by Red Lobster, strong sturdy tall and regular chairs…we save thru our Restores, tons of materials that would be thrown away.make sure you visit our Restores..

Important for the future..with that in mind, we move ahead, building homes, changing neighborhoods, helping others…when you buy at the Restores, it helps us to be able to build more homes, help more people…..

  Today is our annual golf tournament, Build a home golf tournament…that is dedicated to our work in Mt Vernon….every dollar is doubled…again thanks to Joe French for his leadership in this vital effort..

A great day, thanks to synagogue from Rye Brook, yesterday, KTAI as well as from Ioan Prep, Manhattanville college, and many more..tonite we have our Monday volunteer orientation at 6pm..a blessing..so many want to come.

We are preparing for our THANKSGIVING BUILDATHON… made of Muslims, Jewish and Christians working together..in THANKS GIVING TO THEONE GOD THAT LOVES US..

 

Yesterday Ezra and his friend taught me about Succoth, about an open hut for the homes to be built for the Harvest…

Today check out the NY Times if you can, see what can be done…on foreclosures, we need to change these things now..

Excitingly this is our first week we are in new headquarters we purchased..rehabbed green, the Green Resource center is coming in..so average homeowners and businesses can access information.
