To that end join us..we lift up our kids in activity, in education, in green space, in home ownership, in employment…

We have just begun..in a county with great opportunity and in other areas, lack thereof..but opportunity is a partnership, is self help, is faith based, is 

A helping hand rather than a handout..its teaching to fish rather than fish! So come on..join our PEOPLE ELEVATION..NMU no more ugly!

Grateful for each day..

For companies for congregations for families, for you.

As I take my continuous walk towards the world trade center every nite after work..I pray and think about how many have helped us.

I often think of Westchester as the 8th borough..so many live here who work in the city. So Many live here, who want to have a great life..so many live here who live in poverty…

Many from the city who work there, come out and build with us here, as they live in westchester…but often no site of extreme poverty compared to the affluent towns..a metro north train 

Back and forth hides a lot of sins..kids go to Nicaragua, Domincan republic, but don't to go mt vernon or Yonkers to help..what a world..we travel to the third world..but not to what I call 

The fourth world..urban areas shunned by all in this country…but we have hope..

Thousands of volunteers come..thousands join us ..we need more…..help us make it one world, one county, now..

We are blessed daily..this on the weekend when we see a gunman kill, people die..in Colorado.

What values do we have, what is life…how do we realize our world needs prayer and action.

So many help us..so many appreciate our work..our love in communities is like a computer virus of good..it can only infect each street, each person volunteering, each walking by.

If it does not we are not doing our job…we look at whole neighborhoods now..we pray for the world, and tithe to Haiti, Salvador, Tajikistan, and other countries..sometimes we get in our own little world..Habitat is a cause a blessing to allow us to do that, to do great mitzvah, to tzedekah, great Christian Charity, great love of life and Salaam..so much of what we do, permeates in one community, one working together, to build lives decently simply in love.. Thank you all!

A walk to the world trade center of prayer and reflection..

Leads me to be grateful for our work and in hopes our 911 buildathon will be a strong one for our vets homes we are working on..

Today I announced it on wvox and also in an interview on Kluv..this is a blessing for us.

I remember meeting at Cantor Fitzgerald with human resources people there, prior to the date..

Wanting to volunteer with us…I remember the dust on the cars the next day…from the buildings ..

I remember habitat volunteers helping me on the sat after 911, our first 911 volunteer day…if you will,  to help clean the armory, then to load it up all nite long..where supplies were brought to

Ground zero..

I remember so many we have helped..

And now we remember again to help build..to help raise homes…out of the ashes of abandonment, like the towers, to house vets …

thanks to Silverstein properties and all the team.

Thanks to the prayers and support  you give.

Thank you God for us being able to rise …each day, to help in Habitat..

No More Ugly..in anyneighborhood

No More national deb..14 trillion not good

No more funny accounting   2 billion vests 9 billion, come on JP

No more political campaigns of 3.5billion dollars

No more wars for oil

No more non diverse faith communities..aka no diverse communities

No kid shot, no home substandard, no senior without heat,, no veteran with out a home..

To this end, we work and pray and challenge daily..we need you !

A long day, st arting with our board meeting..

Grateful…having started as a volunteer..then vice president then president..moving ahead.

Making it happen, we move ahead…our 25th anniversary is around the corner in 2013..a great year it will be.

Every morning I wake up in the summer, them fill the water jugs, then go to water in MtVernon and Yonkers…and New rochelle..our community gardens and our planters..

People can't always believe why, but now they are creating jobs..because as the community loves them, I start to hire a local good person to help water them, and or adopt them..

From Nodine Hill to Ashburton, from First and South St to Mt Vernon even, in yonkers to MV and from Main St to Lincoln Avenue..we are revitalizing neighborhoods with gardens of love, greening communities.. As Green goes up, crime comes down, and pride and neighborhood caring happens…..we have  created concrete jungles, and taken away green space..the new urban Green revolution is bringing it back and habitat of westchester is proud to be on the forefront of that in our neighborhoods…so donate some plants,  buy a planter, come water our gardens, come help teach how to grow..as our homes go up, our gardens do too…I believe teaching every kid to grow their own food as well as build is vital! Joioln us!
