Today we kickoff COLLEGE STUDENTS FOR HOMES FOR THE HOLIDAYS!

This holiday if your son or daughter is home..have them come home for the holiday season to build! instead of hanging out have them learn to build a home..have them learn about
Green building..also we will have a gathering for the students when they are here…

Also FAMILIES FOR HOMES FOR THE HOLIDAYS! Many of you are signing up for this…does it get any better, helping others have a home for the holidays!  Join us!!

Amazing time in history. Things that are happening will have long lasting effects on so many…lawsuits, For us at Habitat, we want o think beautiful…yeah that’s right. We want to make anew neighborhoods that need to be beautiful..need to be looked at in ways that are positive to help families to have great lives…to have gardens, and grass..to have playgrounds and people who care..to have neighobrhoods that are whole..is that too much to ask..we think not.  We need to thank those who help us all year long..from Diversified Advisors, to IBM, to MobilePlus and Modern Hardware, from Silverstien properties to Goldman Sachs, from Bronxville reformed Church to St Vitos and more and more…there are so many to thank!

THANKSGIVING TO ALL! FROM US AT HABITAT!

This week I give thanksgiving for life…we stopped two people from fighting, one who pulled a gun the other a bat…pray for our neighborhoods, pray for us changing neighobrhoods to the better. Home ownership does it. Partnerships does it, congregations help with it. Thank you God for another day!

 

Along with that we give out 100 turkeys in our neighborhood on the street, on Orchard…we also rehab a vets home in Yonkers, we also help with working on ahome in Somers. Thanks to Ardsley high School as well as to Fox Lane High School, and the Unification church for assisting.

What a blessing. We also have volunteers thanksgiving morning.

Today the Westchester Invaders  play with their marching band..better than the Macys parade in my opinion…we got them shirts..kids taken from the projects, who now are with us..! we love the Westchester invaders.

Every second is gift..we appreciate your vital support as we change neighborhoods together..

We help so many this weekend three Vets homes..Our  HOMES FOR THE HOLIDAYS campaign will find us helping others..helping to finish homes..what a blessing!

Did you know on election day you have to vote..sounds stupid doesn’t it..but more and more people are apathetic, party laden with lack of choices and voices..and ridden with debt by politicians who don’t balance budgets…we need to pray on this important day that this changes..that we look to see our world get better, our lives, our communities..with election Day and Veterans Day so close, we have much to be thankful for..but we have to act…

For that matter..let 2011 be the year of Change…of action of Faith in action and calling one another to get involved in changing your own local community..stay tuned…

Join Habitat, with your hearts, mind, hammers, love and hope for a better tomorrow..this will and can happen….today we welcome J Teen to our sites, on election day, volunteering….God bless them.. and you….Vote Act Change…

Veterans Day is coming..Veterans Day, we celebrate the work of so many helping us..so many caring about us..helping us to be able to save us from harm…now  we  need to help partner to repair their homes in REPAIR CORPS.. as well as in creating new Veterans homes..we are blessed to do this..we are blessed to help others..our Vets who need our support..like Ed whose home is run down, and many others.

 

1000 foreclosures an official tells me..can you believe it, in one small area..time to take them back get the families back in and help them to be able to get the land back on the tax rolls..Habitat is commited to this.

 

We are in challenging times..many people cant speak up out of fear..no matter what side of the aisle..many don’t like to help their neigjhbor.. we need to help one another..one way you can do this is by helping us to WALK FOR HOMES NOW! see our website for this…http://www.habitatwc.org  then build with us..this Thanksgiving season, this HOMES FOR THE HOLIDAYS time….God bless you…
