FW: blog

My walk to ground zero..always doing it around this time..last nite I walked..about four miles to the shining lights..i thought of dave and marty of Silverstein who are building the world trade centers, mike from zwicker, and Rogers Construction..all who have helped us.

As  you walk towards the block…interesting perspectives,…St Peters Church on the left, at Pierre Toussaint Square..on the side of the church the Metal Crunched Cross, made from material of WTC,The Federal building opposite and kitty corner you see the WTC growing up.

I remember walking trying to get past Canal street..on Sept 12, right after 911…I could only get so far, I wanted to help. We ended up helping that Saturday filling the New Rochelle Armory with Habitat volunteers with relief supplies from all over the world… a command center for distribution..construction boots, food, plywood and more, all to help the relief effort. Workers would come and get the materials and bring them to ground zero.

Today we prepare for our 911 ribbon cutting, of the Made in America Shop..dedicated to those who lost their lives, to those who protect us, to the future of this country. Our war is not overseas but here, to take it back..to win the Battles and the Wars, to have good jobs, and simple decent homes in our communities once again. God bless  you and God bless America!
