FW: blog

Martin Luther King buildathon continues…the brilliance of a person who spoke out against injustice against

The lack of home ownership, education and more..and more…We have more than 300 volunteers all week long as we celebrate the Dream all week in building homes, painting community centers and boys clubs and more.

With that in mind our Faith based opportunities continue with people of all faiths and no faiths, helping us to build simple decent homes.

Last nite I attended #Hillsong church, to kick off in prayer my week to pray for justice, guidance and hope. They hope to build homes with us in our work in #Sandy relief where the injustice of insurance companies, lack of continuity and lack of dealing with disaster has left 16,000 families still without homes. Stacy just emailed me, she fights, yet #chase comes down to forclose on her.

What a world…there is no moral compass it seems…its time to change this.

The Moral compass, that is what Dr King used to direct his life, the Holy Spirit, the Ruah in Hebrew…he didn’t always want to speak up…nor do i..its easier not too.. but the loud silence of not speaking up is as loud as those who call each other horrible names…today many don’t speak up in Westchester.

I remember Marching to Zion..Habitat started in the first black white Christian community in southwest Georgia where Andrew Young stated to me, Jim it was so radical we were told not go there…Radical, black and white living together, radical, faith communities being diverse, radical, mason Dixon lines being crossed and housing being built in the North end of New Rochelle as well as the south..north county as well as the south…..Harrison is our Selma…its time to change this.

God is strong than politics, God is stronger than prejudice…I often wonder why I ended up here..but if I don’t speak up against economic and racial prejudice..well than kick me out…The Dream continues….everytime you help pick up a hammer with us you are a dream maker…..God bless you!
