FW: tenth anniversary of habitat blog

Our volunteers for ten years of service for the tenth anniversary have now included Roosevelt High, Iona Prep, Iona College, IBM Homesite insurance, Normandy real estate, Navy recruits, software guidance, woodland temple, Dobbs Ferry Lutheran and many more..what a blessing.

Chris Smith called, I want to get my soccer team out…he brings them out this Wed thirty strong, helping us..moving ahead..

What a great blessing this is! Thanks Chris!

Yesterday Sunday I worked with Ivan, Junior, Ramseys, Christopher, local residents and family members of Stewart Place and Ashburton, working on our community garden again..helping out, making it look beautiful again. What a great day..we also worked with Zaih who helped us..all afternoon. Cucumbers, tomatoes, eggplant peppers were all given to community neighbors.  What a blessing!

Why community gardens..there is no fresh food in our neighborhoods. Over the yeasr I have developed a “third eye” if you will, looking at the whole neighborhood…our homes get built but there may no supermarkets..only bodegas.  We want our families healthy  and believe every student should grow food in the hood..while living in decent homes.  To this end we grow!

Would you sponsor one of our gardens? Would you sponsor a window today, would you help us? God bless you all, God bless my friends in the hood..my brothers..my sister Zaiah, all who help make this a better place!
