FW: blog

Christ Community Church, our command center in Breezy..for months no heat, no showers, just a place to be, gutted walls, signing up hundreds for #Sandyrelief help, it has been a beacon of light of us, for volunteers, for families, for the church itself.

I remember bringing the Menorah in for the IsraelAid group who helped us during eight weeks or so of relief, my brothers from Israel and I worked together,a great blessing helping people in disaster relief.

Then we had groups from SAI who came with hundreds to Fordham University to groups that were new religions, or non denominational, like I had never heard.  Companies, people with no faith, all came to help….we still NEED YOUR HELP!  The winter was harsh for rebuilding no question. Our volunteer base went down..and donations went down….yet many are not back in their homes from Sandy relief…Today I give hats off to CCC and all the groups that came, from Forest Labs and Bank of America to Goldman to Sai to St Bonaventures, to Channel View High, to SAR and Bnai Akivah, the disaster of Sandy brought us together like none other……except for

Our day to day work in the Theology of the Hammer….this profound simple phrase has impacted the world…no Protestants No JewsNo Catholics No Muslims No hindus, just all One in the Same when we hold hammers together on sites.  The one God sees us all together….like yesterday on site…andtoday.   Mike and Nikki two Marines with their volunteer vets group helped work with French American School, Briarcliff High, Relig,. And indidivuals like Max and Leanne and Chuck who all made up the mosaic quilt of sheetrocking walls of love on homes.

What an amaing thing to happen,. No question. It is what God wants to happen…to see us all working together in the theology of the hammer…so imagine if all the churches this Sunday, all the syngagoues, all the temples and congregations went out this afternoon to build on homes…stay tuned…the Theology of the Hammer is growing not in religious books, but on Sandy homes and Vets homes and seniors homes and affordable homes…and in your heart and mine. God bless you!
