Fw: blog

A long day…driving to albany to see my son get settled in second semester college.. Albany , bastion of government..a time of tough times, fiscal constraint..but Albany Habitat is there as well…with a Restore, with work with building homes, helping others…the beauty of Habitat in NY as well as across the country and world, is we are working today all over…making it happen…

I was also fortunate to speak with my co director Josh Lockwood yesterday…he does a great job there in nyc and we are fortunate to learn from each other, to share resources and to help brainstorm on how we can do our work better. His Construction Manager Paul Thibault, I worked with years ago when he was at Boston Habitat. And now he is in NY…a great blessing….then people like Jim Pate of NOLA Habitat in New Orleans are habitat heroes to me, who have blitzed bult in Dallas and went to New Orleans and ended up with helping to rebuild an American City…thank you to all my co workers, and co volunteers, who have done so much to help us all grow together, JUST THE BEGINNING..

I want to dedicate this day to Wayne Lemmon..Wayne, a great Christian, started volunteering with us…unassuming but filled with Construction knowledge, Wayne worked to be able to help us in many ways…from building stairs..probably the toughest to do, to being able to help work on roofs, and doors and look at plans..so much to do…God bless you Wayne , his memorial service is Monday..thank you for being a friend and to his family may he be in heaven this day..!

May you build a little heaven on earth today like Wayne , like my co workers, like our families, like those messengers of Hope in your life who look at the future with bright eyes, hard work and a mission that everyone should go to bed at nite in a simple decent home…

God bless, jjk
